Problem:

Extensive dampness in the basement of commercial property on a busy high street.

It was discovered that penetrating damp was the cause, from surrounding earth below ground level, with the added complication of a leaking glass panel installed in the ceiling to provide light from street level.

Works completed: 

Provision and installation of the following:

 

  • Delta MS500 membrane to the walls to full ceiling height
  • Delta drainage channels into indent formed within the new floor slab
  • Delta V3 dual sump unit with high level alarm and control panel into pit formed within the floor slab
  • 10 number inspection ports
  • Polysil TG500 sealer to the surface of the floor
  • Delta MS20 floor membrane and link to wall membrane
  • Moisture resistant chipboard flooring over the Delta MS floor membrane
  • Softwood treated battens over the Delta MS500 wall membrane secured to Delta plugs
  • Plasterboard over the soft wood battens to form dry lining
  • Finish plasterboard with set coat plaster finish
  • Remove all debris and leave for clients finishes.
