Works completed:

Upon inspection of the below ground structure in this old farm cottage, it was apparent that water was freely rising through the concrete floor, from the surrounding ground.

What was done:

We explained the merits of conforming to British Standard BS8102 ‘The Waterproofing of Below Ground Structures 22’ and the client opted for a programme of works that did not include any works to the walls.

Work commenced with:

  • Forming an 850mm x 750mm sump to accommodate the pump/sump
  • Supply and installation of one Delta System Double Pump fitted with non-return valves
  • Supply and installation of one Delta System Battery Back-Up system to provide continuous operation in the event of a mains failure
  • Supply and installation of Delta System MS20 Membrane to the floor
  • Supply and installation of moisture resistant chipboard to the floor membrane
  • Supply and installation of discharge pipes from the sump and pump, left for connection to the external drainage system/soakaway by the clients’ building contractor.
