It’s easy to check if a property professional you are considering using is a member of the Property Care Association (PCA). Just visit the website and use the company name search tool… But why does the PCA stamp approval mean contractors like us are more trustworthy?
TrustMark Protection
All members of the PCA are awarded the TrustMark accreditation. To join the PCA we must demonstrate standards that meet their high expectations. In case you don’t already know, TrustMark is the only Government Endorsed Quality Scheme for work carried out in or around your home. In collaboration with TrustMark, the PCA works to improve standards in the property industry – damp specialists like us, included. Using a TrustMark accredited firm like us will help you to significantly reduce the risk of hiring a cowboy firm.
Property Care Association audits and assessments
Members of the PCA are only permitted to display the logo once they can prove they have:
- Comprehensive industry recognised qualifications
- Insurance backed guarantees
- Formal Codes of Conduct
- A strict Code of Ethics
- Minimum Performance Standards
- Co-operation with the PCA in the unlikely event of disputes
- Access to a deposit protection scheme for damp proofing, timber preservation, structural waterproofing and structural repair works
Without any of these standards in place, you cannot display the logo, appear on their directory or claim the TrustMark. To ensure a PCA member company remains trustworthy and worthy of membership they are regularly assessed and audited.
Industry Specific apprenticeship training
Property Conservation Services only employs technicians and apprentices who go through the PCA training regime. They are a leading training provider in the UK for damp & timber preservation, structural waterproofing, structural repairs, ground gas and invasive weed control.
Our technicians typically go through:
- Damp Training
- Structural Waterproofing Training
- Mould and Condensation Training
- Timber Preservation Training
- Flood Resilience and Prevention Training
- Client Customer Relations
We are especially proud that one of our own apprentices, Lee, won the PCA Apprentice of the Year 2024!
Property Care Association Contractor Guarantees
Following accredited training and regular audits, member companies are able to offer guarantees on treatments that go beyond the usual.
For example, all our work and the products we use are guaranteed for 10 years.
The PCA Work Promise
If, in the unfortunate event of a Property Care Association member company going out of business whilst working in your home, the PCA promises to cover the work and progress it to completion. The PCA Remedial Work Promise is a type of warranty that covers structural waterproofing, damp-proofing works and timber treatments, including dry/wet rot.
This adds another level of reassurance to all our customers. You will never be let down by a PCA member company.
So, we hope that gives you confidence that you can trust Property Conservation Services with the damp work that may need to be carried out in your home.
If you suspect damp or timber problems in your home or place of business, please call us at the first sign for a free damp or timber survey. This will be followed by a report and quote, upon which you can make an informed decision on how to proceed.
